I’m the guy who’s always smiling. I have that drive to do things. If I’m going to do something, it’s either full forward or not at all. I played football in school, but I started drugs when I was young. I got clean, but then I started again. I spent some time being homeless. I tried to kill myself with heroin. I’ve done construction work, warehouse work, restaurant work. I work hard to get ahead. I try my best, but some days I feel like I’m always failing. I have an open mind, and I love the city even more now that I’m clean. I’m almost four months sober. I live in a sober living house and am going to meetings every week. They’re teaching me how to do the steps, how to stay clean. I want to be a good member of the community. My outlook is to always have fun. If you ain’t having fun, it ain’t worth doing.
